Drugs, weapons and hacker services

The main means of settlement in the darknet are cryptocurrencies, such as bitcoin, which also ensure the anonymity of the parties. Thanks to this, the darknet can exist almost autonomously.
Briton Jamie Bartlett, one of the world’s leading experts in the field of the impact of modern technologies on society, actively researched the darknet and compared its work with the work of online trading platforms. According to Barlett, the functionality of the darknet is in no way inferior to modern e-commerce sites and is fully focused on the needs of customers, including customer reviews.
“First of all, the sites in the darknet are used for drug trafficking.
Tens or even hundreds of thousands of such transactions are carried out annually on such sites, payment is made with bitcoins. Then the goods are delivered to the specified address – just like the usual things bought on Amazon or Ebay. The only difference is that in this case everything happens anonymously,” explains Bartlett.
Weapons are freely sold on the shadow Internet, as well as illegal services of various kinds: for example, you can rent network bots there or order a cyber attack from professional hackers. If someone needs only individual tools for such an attack, they can purchase computer viruses, worms, Trojans, and the like on the darknet.
